FAQs

What should I wear?

A question we get a lot is “What should we wear?” We think the most important thing when picking an outfit is to “Be Yourself”. If you keep your style simple, then go simple…If you like a lot of jewelry or scarves then wear them. Don’t limit yourself to all white. Color is good. Patterns are great! Layers are better! It’s okay to mix and match a bit…if it’s your style, have fun with it. The best photos are taken when you feel comfortable in front of the lens, just remember, be you!

Do you have a studio?  Where are the photos taken?

We do have a studio, and newborn sessions are predominantly shot there. For families, seniors and other shoots, it’s a mix between studio and outdoors, but mostly outdoors. Once we start collaborating on your session, we can make suggestions on locations and we can find what best suits your needs.

When are session fees due?

Session fees are due upon booking your session to secure your spot.  All session fees are non-refundable. Payments can be made by credit card, Venmo, Zelle, cash or personal check.

What does your session fee cover?

The session fee covers our time and expertise. All prints, albums, canvases and digital images are additional.

What do we do with your digital files?

Our goal is to get your images on your walls and in an album for you to start enjoying right away! So often people just want the digital files, but our experience is they never do anything with them. There’s no time like the present! We have the expertise and resources to help you create beautiful art work to be displayed in your home. We only archive images that have been purchased, either through a print or digital package order. Please know we do not store digital files for images you do not purchase. Rock Spring Photography retains the copyright of all images.

How do I schedule my newborn session before he/she is born?

Just contact us prior to your due date and we will pencil you in on our calendar. You should check in with us towards the end of your pregnancy and when your baby finally makes his/her appearance, please contact us as soon as possible so we can set a specific day and time. The best time to take photos of a newborn is between 7 and 14 days so we will book the session with that time frame in mind. As long as you book your session while you are pregnant, we will definitely have space for you during that 7-14 day period!

How do I prepare my baby for a newborn session?

Once you book a newborn session with us, we will send you a detailed letter further elaborating on how to best ensure a smooth session.
